Shrawley’s WWI War Roll
The War Roll is displayed on the wall in Shrawley Village Hall.

The Shrawley War Roll is unique in that it records the names of everyone from the village who served in World War One. Inscribed on the beautifully illuminated parchment are the names and rank and regiment of the men and women together with their war service, wounds and the countries where they served. In the centre of the Triptych, inscribed in gold, are the names of the fallen. The Roll of Honour was presented to the parish by Mrs Allen of the Wood House in 1922. click here
To the right of the War Role is a framed collection of portrait photographs of all of the men and women from the village who had served in the Great War.
There are 88 names on the Roll of honour, all are listed below, alongside their photographs where available, as there are only 83 photos.
We have added what is known of their military service, and their life and family in Shrawley.

As in the Roll of honour, those who lost their lives are highlighted in gold. The portraits of these sixteen men are featured in the centre of the framed photograph collection.
